Outdoor summer camps and adventures in BC, Yukon, Japan, Fiji, and South America

Immersive, Outdoor Adventure Experiences for Kids, Youth, Adults, and Families

Since 1991, Jeff “Willy” Willis, founder of Fireside Adventures, has been developing and leading outdoor programs, camps, and expeditions around the world. What began as Willy’s vision—to connect people through the power of nature, learning, and leadership—has evolved into something far greater. Today, Fireside Adventures stands as a collective of passionate educators, youth, families, and community partners who have shaped its spirit and success. Together, we continue to live our guiding mission: to foster wonder, build positive personal identity, and inspire leadership through meaningful, nature-based experiences that create lasting impact.

Challenge. Strive. Learn.

We lead adventures primarily in our home turf of British Columbia and Yukon Territory. But the world is a big place and we have expanded our reach to include Ecuador, Fiji, Colombia, Japan, Scotland and Ireland. Our experiences offer a unique range of activities such as canoeing, canyoning, dogsledding, e-biking, parkour, hiking, and so much more. Whether you’re a young kid getting comfortable outside or a family of seasoned adventurers, all our experiences emphasize outdoor experiential education, self-management and social awareness, and leadership skills that give our participants the tools they need to thrive and grow.

“Children and youth are seen, heard, and believed”
— Willy, child and youth worker, outdoor educator, and founder

What’s New?

Since 2005, Fireside Adventures has been redefining what it means to learn, lead, and live adventurously. Born from Willy’s belief that young people grow best through immersive, land-based experiences, Fireside has evolved into a global leader in outdoor education, leadership, and climate action.

As we celebrate 20 years, Fireside proudly launches three bold new pathways: Artemis: Women’s Adventure Experiences, Fireside Family Adventures, and Silver Fox Adventures for lifelong explorers.

At the heart of it all is World Bound—our signature experiential youth leadership program connecting Japan, Fiji, Canada, and South America through a powerful lens of climate change, culture, and purpose-driven adventure.

Climate change activism and education

Learn about our World Bound Climate Leadership curriculum

When we realized that our industry had not shifted to become part of the solution to climate change, we created World Bound.

Every single one of our youth programs now includes discussion and action to reduce carbon use, food waste, non-recyclable materials and more, while focusing on the skills that our youth need to adapt and thrive in a future defined by climate change.
